Casino and sportsbook, one wallet
WooCasino sports betting: freebets with rules worth reading twice
Three freebet types behave in three different ways when they win or lose. Plus the odds band, the expiry clock and the gaps in the Australian sports coverage.
18+ only · Gamble responsibly · WooCasino holds a Tobique licence, not an Australian one
The WooCasino sportsbook is a genuine second product rather than a widget bolted onto a casino. Sport Betting, Live Betting and a Predictions section all sit in the main menu, they share one wallet with the pokies lobby, and the sportsbook has its own welcome offer with its own terms. Those terms are also the most technically detailed on the entire site, which is why this page spends most of its time on them.
One caveat up front, and it is an important one for Australian readers. The bonus terms publish the sportsbook welcome offer in euros, not Australian dollars — 25% up to 200 EUR — and I am not going to quietly convert that into an A$ figure and present it as the operator's number. Where the site says EUR, this page says EUR.
Three kinds of freebet, three different outcomes
The distinction that decides what a winning bet is actually worth
OnlyWin
If the bet wins, the stake is discarded and you keep only the profit. A 20 EUR OnlyWin freebet at odds of 2.00 returns 20 EUR, not 40. This is the type used for the sportsbook welcome offer, and it is the least generous of the three.
AllWin
If the bet wins, the stake is included in the return. The same 20 EUR bet at 2.00 returns the full 40. Functionally identical to betting with your own money, except you did not have to risk any.
NoRisk
If the bet loses, the stake is credited back to your account as real money rather than as bonus funds. The most valuable of the three, because a loss converts into withdrawable cash instead of disappearing.
Those three definitions come straight from clauses 7.1.2 to 7.1.4 of the bonus terms, and the difference between them is not cosmetic. Ranked by value at identical odds, NoRisk beats AllWin beats OnlyWin, and the gap between the best and worst is large. Always check which type you have been given before you choose a market — the same 20 EUR credit is worth very different amounts depending on the label attached to it.
There is one more clause worth memorising: if a bet placed with a freebet is settled as a return — a push, a void, a cancelled fixture — the freebet amount is not refunded. It is simply gone. That makes markets with a realistic chance of being voided, or lines that can land exactly on the number, a poor use of a freebet even when the odds look attractive.
The sportsbook welcome offer, clause by clause
Two deposits, a narrow odds window and a three-day clock
| Term | What the rules say | What it means when you bet |
|---|---|---|
| First deposit bonus | OnlyWin freebet equal to 25% of the deposit, up to 200 EUR | An 800 EUR deposit is needed to reach the ceiling |
| Second deposit bonus | Identical — OnlyWin freebet, 25% up to 200 EUR | Two stages, not one, so the offer is spread across two deposits |
| Eligible odds | Between 1.40 and 2.50 inclusive | Short favourites and long shots are both excluded — no hedging on 1.10 lines |
| Markets | Unlimited number of events, live and pre-match | You can spread a freebet across a multi rather than a single |
| Expiry | Three days from being credited | The shortest clock anywhere on this site — use it or lose it |
| Returns and voids | Freebet amount not refunded on a return | Avoid markets that can push; a void is a total loss of the credit |
| Hunting bonus expiry | One month from claiming | The instalment-based bonus runs far longer than the freebets it pays out |
The 1.40 to 2.50 window is the clause that shapes everything else. It rules out the two obvious exploits — stacking a freebet onto a near-certain favourite, or throwing it at a 20.00 outsider on the theory that a free shot at a long price is free money. What remains is roughly the range a normal punter bets in anyway, which is a sign the book has thought about this rather than copied someone else's terms.
The three-day clock is the real constraint. Everything else on this site runs on a thirty-day or one-month timer. A freebet that expires in seventy-two hours has to be planned around a fixture list, not around when you happen to feel like betting. Claim it when you know what you want to bet on, not the moment it becomes available.
The hunting bonus, which almost nobody reads
A bonus that pays out in instalments as you bet
This is the most unusual offer on the site and it deserves explaining properly, because the terms describe a mechanism rather than a simple credit. Instead of handing you a lump sum, the hunting bonus releases the amount gradually as OnlyWin freebets while you keep betting. Settled bets at odds of 1.40 or higher accumulate towards the next instalment whether they win or lose — the outcome is irrelevant, only the turnover matters.
When the accumulated total reaches your current average bet, a freebet equal to that average bet is released, the amount is subtracted from the remaining bonus, and the accumulation restarts. The final instalment is rounded up in your favour to the next multiple of five: if your average bet is 10 EUR and 7 EUR of bonus remains, you receive a 10 EUR freebet rather than a 7 EUR one.
Two exclusions apply. Losses or partial wins on Asian totals where only one of two possible outcomes lands do not count, and neither do cancelled bets or any bet closed with the cash-out feature. Freebets released this way must be used on combination bets in the Sports or In-play sections, on events priced between 1.40 and 2.50, and they expire three days after being claimed. The bonus itself runs for one month.
What you can actually bet on
And the Australian gap I have to flag honestly
The highlighted items are sections and markets I could see on the operator's own site — the menu carries Sport Betting, Live Betting and a Predictions area, and the front page was showing WTA and US Open tennis lines with prices while I was looking at it. The greyed-out items are the ones an independent Australian review portal reported as missing when it tested the book: cricket, rugby league, rugby union and horse racing.
I want to be exact about the status of that claim. It is a third-party observation from aussieonlinecasino.com, not something the operator states and not something I could verify without an account and an Australian IP address at the time of testing. Market coverage also changes with the season. Treat it as a warning to check the sports you care about before depositing, rather than as an established fact — but do check, because for a lot of Australian punters a book without the spring carnival and without the NRL is not a book at all.
Odds format. Prices on the operator's front page display in decimal, which is the standard Australian format, so no conversion is needed. The tennis lines I saw were quoted as 1.16 and 5.39 — decimal, as expected.
One wallet, two sets of rules
The trap in sharing a balance between casino and sportsbook
Sports and casino run off the same balance, which is convenient right up to the moment it is not. The maximum-bet clause in the casino bonus terms sets an A$8 ceiling on all game types while a casino bonus is active. If you have taken a casino welcome bonus and then place a A$50 sports bet from the same balance, you are outside the terms — and the operator's remedy for exceeding the maximum bet is confiscation of winnings.
The clean approach is to keep them separate in time rather than in accounts: clear or cancel a casino bonus before you start betting seriously on sport, and do not claim a casino bonus while a sportsbook freebet is in play. Since the cashier is shared as well, one balance funds both books with the same deposit limits, the same withdrawal ceilings and the same twelve-hour processing target on the way out.
There is a second, quieter cost to betting on sport here. Comp points are credited only for bets placed on pokies — sports bets earn no comp points at all, and neither do table or live-dealer games. If you are working towards a VIP milestone, every dollar staked on sport is a dollar that does nothing for your level. That is not a reason to avoid the sportsbook, but it is worth knowing before you assume the ladder is progressing.

How this compares to an Australian bookmaker
Two different regulatory worlds, honestly stated
Online sports betting with an Australian-licensed bookmaker is legal and regulated. Those operators are supervised locally, are covered by BetStop, and are bound by rules that restrict inducement advertising and prohibit online in-play betting — which is why a licensed Australian book makes you telephone to bet in running.
WooCasino sits outside all of that. It offers online live betting because it is not bound by the in-play restriction, and it offers a deposit-matched freebet because it is not bound by the inducement rules. Those are the two features Australian punters most often notice as advantages, and both exist for exactly the same reason: no Australian licence. The corollary is no BetStop coverage, no local dispute resolution and no Australian regulator to escalate to if a settlement is disputed.
That is the trade, stated plainly. It is the same trade described on the casino side of the same wallet, and it does not become a different trade because the product is sport rather than pokies. Decide about it once, deliberately, rather than sliding into it because the in-play markets are convenient.

Sportsbook questions
Answered from the operator's terms
What is the WooCasino sportsbook welcome bonus?
An OnlyWin freebet worth 25% of your deposit up to 200 EUR, on each of your first two deposits. The operator publishes this offer in euros rather than Australian dollars. Freebets can be used on odds between 1.40 and 2.50 and expire three days after being credited.
What is the difference between OnlyWin, AllWin and NoRisk?
OnlyWin discards the stake when the bet wins, so you keep only the profit. AllWin includes the stake in the return. NoRisk credits the stake back as real money if the bet loses. Ranked by value they run NoRisk, then AllWin, then OnlyWin — and the welcome offer uses OnlyWin.
Can I bet in-play at WooCasino?
Yes. Live Betting is a separate section in the main menu and freebets can be used on live as well as pre-match markets. Australian-licensed bookmakers cannot offer online in-play betting, which is one of the practical differences between a local book and this one.
Does WooCasino cover the AFL and NRL?
An independent Australian review portal reported AFL coverage but no cricket, rugby league, rugby union or horse racing. That is a third-party observation rather than an operator statement, and market coverage changes seasonally — check the specific competitions you care about before depositing.
What happens if my freebet is voided?
The freebet amount is not refunded. Clause 7.1.5 states that if a bet slip using a freebet is settled as a return, the freebet is not given back. That makes markets prone to pushes or cancellations a poor place to spend one.
Do sports bets count towards a casino bonus?
The wagering contribution table covers casino game types and does not list sports betting. What is certain is that an active casino bonus applies its A$8 maximum-bet ceiling across the whole account, so a larger sports stake while a casino bonus is running puts your winnings at risk. Ask support before mixing the two.
How does the hunting bonus pay out?
In instalments. Settled bets at odds of 1.40 or higher build towards the next instalment regardless of result; when the accumulated total reaches your average bet, a freebet of that size is released and the count restarts. Cash-out bets, cancelled bets and certain Asian totals outcomes are excluded. The bonus expires one month after being claimed.
